What this website is, what it is not, and the line between the bookkeeping I do and the work a CPA has to sign.
Using this site
This website is published by Suncoast Bookkeeping Services, LLC. Reading it means these terms apply to you. If you do not agree with them, the site is not for you and there is nothing further to do.
This site is information, not advice
Nothing here is accounting, tax or legal advice for your situation
The pages describe how the work is done and the problems it solves in general terms. Your books, your contracts and your licence class are specific, and general information is not a substitute for looking at them. Do not act on a page on this site without talking it through first.
Accurate when written, not guaranteed forever
Rules change, thresholds move, and software changes what it does. Reasonable care goes into keeping the pages correct and no promise is made that every statement is current on the day you read it.
I am not a CPA
What I do
Bookkeeping. Accounts reconciled, costs coded to the job, retainage tracked, 1099-NEC records kept through the year, monthly financial reports, and a year-end package your CPA can file from. More about that.
What I do not do
I do not perform audits, reviews or compilations, I do not issue any report or opinion that requires a CPA licence, and I do not represent you before a taxing authority. Where your situation needs one of those, I say so and work alongside the CPA who provides it.
Nothing on this site is a quote or an engagement
An engagement starts in writing
No work begins, and no fee is owed, until the scope and the price are agreed in writing between us. Until then a phone call is a conversation, and a page is a page.
Prices and packages can change
What is described on this site is the shape of the service. The figure that applies to you is the one in your written quote or agreement, and that is the one that binds both of us. What it costs.
The free file review is genuinely free
It carries no obligation on either side and creates no engagement. If there is cleanup to do afterwards, you get one flat number before any work starts, and you can decline it and keep the review.
What I need from you
Complete and accurate records
Bookkeeping is only as good as what it is built from. Books are prepared from the records and explanations you provide, and I am not responsible for the consequences of information that was incomplete, inaccurate or withheld. If something does not add up, I will tell you rather than guess.
Your own filing obligations stay yours
Returns, licence renewals and statutory deadlines belong to you and to whoever files them for you. Keeping your books current is what makes those straightforward. It does not transfer them to me unless we have agreed in writing that it does.
The usual, said plainly
Your responsibility for your own decisions
Business decisions you make after reading this site, or after seeing a report, are yours. No outcome, saving or result is promised anywhere on this site.

Where this site links out, that is for your convenience. I do not control those sites and I am not responsible for what is on them.
The content belongs to this business

The current version lives on this page. Terms that affect an existing engagement are in your written agreement, and those do not change because a web page did.
