Accessibility statement
This site is built to be usable by everyone, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard alone, voice control, or a phone in bright sunlight on a job site. If something here does not work for you, I want to know.
The standard I am aiming at
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That is the target this site is built and maintained against. It is stated as a target rather than a certification, because no formal audit has been carried out and claiming conformance that has not been tested would be the wrong way to start this page.
What that means in practice
It works with a keyboard
Every link, button and control can be reached and operated without a mouse, in an order that makes sense, with a visible focus indicator so you can see where you are. A skip link at the top of each page jumps straight past the navigation to the content.
It works with a screen reader
Pages use real headings in a real order, lists that are lists and tables that are tables, so assistive technology can describe the structure rather than read a wall of text. The expandable questions on these pages are built from the browser’s own disclosure element, so they behave the way your software already expects.
It is readable
Text and background colours are chosen for contrast, the type is set at a size meant to be read rather than admired, and the layout reflows when you zoom in or enlarge text rather than cutting words off.
It works on a phone, one-handed
Phone and text links are large enough to hit with a thumb, and the page does not depend on hovering over anything, because a touch screen cannot hover.
It does not depend on colour alone
Where something is emphasised, it is emphasised by more than a colour, so the meaning survives colour blindness and a washed-out screen.
Where it may fall short
An honest note rather than a blank one
This is a new site and it has not yet been through a formal audit or been tested with every combination of browser and assistive technology in use. Where third-party software is embedded in future, parts of it may not meet the same standard, and I will say so here when that happens rather than quietly leave this page as it is.

You will not be left without the information
Anything on this site can be read to you over the phone or sent in a different format if that works better for you. The point of the site is the information on it, and there is more than one way to hand that over.
Reports get acted on, not filed
Accessibility problems are treated as defects in the site, which is what they are. If something is broken for you, it is broken.
